The Sixth Series of the rebooted series 'Doctor Who' was broadcast on TV across 2011. The first 7 episodes were broadcast from the 23rd of April and ran for 7 weeks. The series then resumed in August when the last 6 episodes were shown. The series continued the adventures of the Eleventh Doctor, Amy and Rory. The series' main focus was the "Death of the Doctor" arc and the identity of River Song.
The series recieved positive reviews from critics and fans however the general concenus was that it was weaker than Moffat's first series. Episodes such as "The Girl Who Waited" and "The Doctor's Wife" recieved critical acclaim. While the opener of the series set up the series in a very sucessful way, reviewers were less enthusiastic about Moffat's finale which to may didn't wrap the series up satisfactorily.
